Executive Team

An award-winning pioneer of legal technology recognised as being instrumental in creating de facto standards within the industry over 25 years. Lisa’s ability to bridge the gap between technologists and legal compliance practitioners has enabled her to lead teams of experts in delivering intelligent, effective solutions to Regulators, Law Firms and FTSE 100 clients in responding to regulatory and corporate investigations, contentious and non-contentious legal matters.   Sharply commercial in her approach to delivering successful outcomes to clients, Lisa has built a highly successful Legal Technology company that she sold to Grant Thornton LLP in 2010

Joe Bridgeman

Our Client Director has enjoyed a successful career in the IT Services, Telecoms and Network Security markets for 30+ years, having worked for and with, some of the best known multi-national providers of services in these sectors. Joe has been involved in an advisory capacity with a wide range of Public and Private sector clients in implementing and managing their Risk, Regulatory and Data Privacy strategies where he was able to build strong, ethical and long-term relationships, creating a formidable and proactive network of which he is very proud

An experienced Executive, and former Deloitte Partner with strong leadership, commercial, operational and technology skills.  Tony brings more than 25 years of international consulting/advisory experience and expertise to LegalDW.  Experience garnered working for small consultancies through to one of the biggest.  As well as being Chairman for LegalDW, Tony will work closely with the Advisory Board to support Lisa, Joe and the team build a world-class, international company

Andrew Mills

Andrew Mills qualified as a lawyer in 1998, before moving into a Mergers & Acquisitions career in 2000. He had roles at EY, BDO, and RSM before setting up his own corporate finance business in 2011. Having spent the last two decades working on deals with debt and equity funders, he is uniquely placed to understand the requirements of funders and the businesses they invest in; and particularly the challenges around diligence and providing solutions to a business from a financial, commercial, legal and, increasingly, a data/security perspective

Rachel Mills

Rachel Mills is a qualified Solicitor who has worked as a Partner in a City law firm for many years. She is experienced in all forms of commercial dispute resolution with a focus on complex multi-jurisdiction claims including contractual and insurance disputes.

Rachel has worked in the maritime industry for the majority of her career and advised on claims arising from collisions, catastrophic injury and fatalities, which require accident investigation and involve various stakeholders. She also advised on yacht claims, insurance coverage disputes and travel law issues resulting in class-action litigation. Rachel has also worked in the space and communication sector advising on commercial contracts and regulatory issues.

More recently Rachel has been studying Forensic Medical Science and has been awarded a Diploma from the Worshipful Society of Apothecaries.

Rachel will work with the Board as a Non-Executive Director to provide legal insight and guidance across a range of issues.

Advisory Board

Philip is a journalist specialising in the security, counter terror, cyber, defence and intelligence arenas. His knowledge is built from a long and senior military career as an intelligence and security officer, a strategic planner (who has helped take over a couple of countries or regions) with business experience at board level in the steel industry and now media industry; he maintains a close interest in global events.  Philip runs his own media company, Grey Hare Media, and specialises in delivering informed content.   Philip is frequently asked to comment for BBC TV News and Radio, ITV news and other global networks including, CBC, ABC, CNN, Euro News, Turkish TRT World TV, Russian RT.com and RTE radio and has given content in the past to BBC Mundo and Japanese NTV.   He has presented INTERPOL World TV in Singapore in 2015, 2017 and again in 2019.  Philip writes for a lot of trade press and has been published in International Security Journal, Security News Desk, City Security Magazine, Counter Terror Business, In Security Magazine, Security Middle East Magazine and the IoD West Midlands Magazine amongst others.  He is a frequent commentator in Forbes and is often quoted in the Times, Telegraph, Daily Mail, Sunday People, Sunday Mirror and many other papers in the UK and across the globe.  As well as delivering original comment and content, in print, online, on TV and radio, Philip organises and chairs high level conferences and is a keynote speaker.    If that were not enough, he retains other business interests in the armoured vehicle arena, specialist molecular detection, is co-founder of a blockchain and technology consultancy and he is the Chairman of a specialist Cyber Intelligence company that tracks terrorist activity online

Gerard is a senior product, technology and transformation leader with broad board-level experience and an entrepreneurial track record. Gerard has proven ability to rapidly launch, grow and sell profitable technology businesses. Expertise in legal tech, the business application of leading-edge Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital products, mobile, customer experience and innovation. Organisations need their advisers to be multidisciplinary experts. Gerard began his career as a developer, progressed to architecting and leading digital programmes, and business transformations. As a startup founder he has a couple of successful exits under his belt. Gerard is a qualified executive coach, and has helped many corporates develop innovative services and products, innovation processes, and to launch corporate ventures

Angela Whitty is the Managing Director responsible for Cisco’s UKI Partner Organisation. A long-term employee, she has been at Cisco for 28 years during which time she has held many leadership positions. Angela is known for her decisiveness, clear-minded customer focus and proven track record as a leader with the ability to build and run diverse teams. In recent years she has indulged her passion for talent development spending time coaching and mentoring future industry leaders both internally and across the wider business. A mother of two boys, she balances her career with a fulfilling family life as well as a desire to improve her golf skills!  She describes herself as an enthusiastic golf novice, never missing the opportunity to be out on the course! 

Steve Sander

Steve is an established expert in corporate value creation and business development, with 20+ years in technology, software and big 4 management consultancy.

His credentials come from driving new business models and technology ideas, building opportunity in clients and markets. Since recently leaving EY where he led global pursuits and advisory programmes, Steve has led strategic fund raising, M&A and strategic advisory projects for clients globally, is on the board or advises leadership in WealthTech, InsureTech and PropTech startups, and advises a global automotive firm’s digital technology go-to-market. 

Over his recent career Steve has served clients extensively in TMT, healthcare, life sciences, public sector, in various large global operations along the spectrum to smaller scale-up B2B tech businesses.

In addition Steve is a Fellow of the Institute of Directors; is alumnus business ambassador and contributes as a guest lecturer MBA strategy at Warwick Business School; and is a mentor and advisory board member for the charity Migrant Leaders

Toby Berryman

Toby has over a decades experience sourcing talent for the legal technology sector. Tom Quinn

Tom is an eDiscovery expert who has worked for 16 years in professional services leading highly successful teams and assisting clients in multiple industries on large scale investigations and litigious matters. Having worked on a high number of large and complex projects, his experience and skillset allows him to deliver successful project outcomes by understanding the unique challenges faced by legal teams and their clients but also the need to deliver solutions that are both cost effective, practical and defensible.
